One of my reflexes now when I find a new artist whose work I really enjoy is to check out his age. More and more emergent future garage artists are teenagers: Morning High, Shutta, Polkadot, xxyyxx… But no matter their age, their passion for music gives them the necessary maturity to create intricate tracks with absolutely great atmospheres.
One of these talented young artists is Wih’lo, an 18 year-old producer from Chicago. He presented his EP, Wasted, a month ago
(so i’m late on this one but better late than never)and it is quite impressive. His tracks are mostly composed of keyboard chords and beats but he arranged them well enough so that it doesn’t sound repetitive, although his tracks last between 5 and 6 minutes each.. There are changes in rhythm and he added vocals to bring personality. Don’t Need is definitely the main piece. FREE DOWNLOAD
Seriously nice tune utilizing a lot of space and soft repetition, dig it

An interesting exercise in how to use found sounds in music production, I’m really liking the way the elements come together on this. When the synthesisers combine with the vocal and beat, comprising of all sorts of interesting snippets, it really comes into its own.
shouts out to greyshading for the nice words about my new tune

Morning High - Workout
Some very nice synths and samples on this smooth (post-)dubstep track from Morning High. A relaxing track despite the heavy bass and complex layers.
big up future grooves, this tune should be seeing a release, fingers crossed
